Time flies so fast and I’m now a mom. Yes, I’m a first time mom! It feels like as if it was just yesterday when my interests and priorities in life is all about myself. I was selfish then! But now is a different story. I’m completely changed. Although my interests hasn’t changed a bit, my priorities did.
I realized that having your own child will make you love him selflessly. That’s what I realized. That my baby is my priority above all things, which I strongly believe that everyone will agree with me.
I guess it just come by nature, that when you’re a mother, your priority is your baby, your child, or your kids– always! Nothing feels better than seeing your baby smiling at you, knowing that he is happy and healthy.
Babies are small as our eyes can see, but they can do big things. Just like my little one, he’s as small as you can see but just like other babies, he can brighten up our day with his sweet smiles, laughters and cute giggles.
I always want to do my best make him feel good.. To keep him happy and healthy. And as a first time mom, I’m learning things everyday which I’d like to share to you. I know a lot of moms probably did the same thing to their babies, but still, here’s my formula for happiness!
My formula for happiness
Every morning puts a smile on my face whenever he wakes up and I say “Hi!” or “Good morning, baby!”, though he can’t say it back yet, his sweet little smile and happy facial expressions as a rensponse is enough to make me feel good because it’s like as if he’s saying “Hi” or “Hello”, too in his own way.
Sing or play music
I love to hum and sing lullabies to my baby to set him to sleep. Sometimes I play classic music like Vivaldi’s, or Beethoven’s. I also play nursery rhymes, it helps me calm my baby sometimes.
I myself loves a good body massage and it feels so relaxing so I thought I have to try giving my baby a soft and gentle massage on his body, hands, and feet. And whoa, I was amazed he loved it when I did it on him for the first time! I’m now doing it on him regularly eversince I read a parenting articles regarding massage on babies and how to’s. It also says that babies love massage, too! Glad I read about it recently!
Bath time sing
My baby loves water. He don’t cry during bath times. He just sit on his tub as I give him support to sit because his body and bones is still soft, well you know what I mean. I know some babies cry a lot when mom’s bathing them, glad that mine loves it. I started with the thought of entertaining my baby while I’m bathing him so he won’t get bored sitting. I sing some nursery rhymes while looking eye to eye with him during bath time, and his response is his sweet smiles indicating he’s happy and is enjoying his entertaining bath time a lot more.
There were times when my baby is hard to please, and won’t stop crying until I carry him outside and go for a walk. I carry him while showing him the surroundings, and it works like magic because he will just stop crying and start to look around. Sometimes I put him in a stroller as I pushed it around outside or just around the house. He will fell asleep, then.
My baby loves it when I talk to him a lot. Also when I’m having a conversation with my girlfriends, he loves to listen and laugh or smile as if we’re talking to him. Sometimes, I’m making a “loud” whispering talk to him and he loves it. If I’m not baby-talking to him, I talk to him the way I talk to people like my age which we both enjoy though he’s not able to talk yet, this one-way conversation is really fun! He’s happy with my little funny talks.
Feeding enough milk
Milk is one of essential things that makes babies happy and healthy, right? My baby loves milk a lot and I always make sure he’s getting enough. He doesn’t want to be breastfeeded anymore because my milk come out a few days later after my delivery and and it seems like he is already used to bottle-feeding. I actually tried hard to breastfeed him, used breast pump so he can still get my milk, but we both ended up with formula because my milk is not enough, plus–it dried up already.
In that case, milk formula has become my buddy to feed my sweet little one. I’m glad that Gerber® Good Start® Infant Formulas are made with non-GMO to give us a backup in raising a happy and healthy child.
Regarding non-GMO initiative, what’s your thoughts about it? And I would also love to hear your formula for happiness tips, I’m so excited to read it in the comments!
