I’m used to hearing laughter and giggles from my baby. That is always a music to my ears. But you know, life is not always like that, right? There will also those times when your baby won’t stop crying and cries as if there’s no tomorrow.
As a new mom, I’m learning new things about my baby’s behavior everyday and it makes me know him more than anyone else. He doesn’t speak yet to tell me how he is feeling, and doesn’t know sign language yet either. To express his feelings and demands, he just cries to call my attention and I just have to guess or base things on his actions.
This guessing game doesn’t come easy in the first few weeks of motherhood for first time moms like me. There were those times when my baby won’t stop crying and I was so nervous. I don’t know what to do anymore, I’m crying in panic and that situation was breaking my heart. I’m just so thankful that I have these people around me who always drop by and taught me things I should do when my little one seems difficult to calm down.
Eventually, I realized I get it. Now I am more confident and at peace knowing my baby is healthy and happy. His crying doesn’t always mean he is sick, but it’s his way of calling mommy and wanting me to do him a favor. So I guess, I should share some of the top reasons why he just won’t stop crying.
Most common reasons why my baby is crying
He is hungry
Most of the time, my baby cries because he wants milk. Yes, above all things, I bet milk time is his most favorite part of the day. Right now we could be playing peek-a-boo and giggling together, and later, his mood will change and becomes easily irritated and cry.
I actually don’t give him milk everytime he cries, sometimes I just picked him up and carry him around. Lucky if he stopped crying because maybe he was just bored. But boy, when I already did carry him, cuddled, and kissed, but he won’t stop crying, he’s probably hungry.
Once he sees me making milk, his crying will be more intense, it could be his way of saying, “Hurry up, Mom!”. He’s grabbing his bottle as if I didn’t feed him for years, hihi..
He is sleepy
Currently, my baby sleeps multiple times during the day time, twice in the morning and twice at noon time. All those times, he cries whenever he feels sleepy. No milk can make him stop crying until I picked him up and carry him.
He loves to be carried and wrap his arms on me while his chin is resting on my shoulder. I don’t know where did he got it, but I guess it’s making him feel safe when he go to sleep.
He wanted to go out and look around
He is just a baby, still a baby, but a he’s baby who always wants to go outside and look around just like other baby does. He’s curious and amazed by the things around him like the cars on the road, people walking around, and even the smallest objects his eyes can see.
So when milk, sleep, or other things around him is not the issue, he probably wanted me to bring him out and look around. There he will stop his crying.
He got rashes
He woke up one day and cried out loud no matter what I gave him, he just won’t take it and cry harder. I thought he was just hungry, so I gave him milk and he won’t take it. I’m so scared and caught between crying helplessly or bring my baby to the hospital, thinking he’s in pain. I also suspected some insect might have bitten him, so I checked all over his body and found out he got diaper rashes!
Now I always make sure I have a Skinfix diaper rash balm to help me soothe and relieve my baby’s sensitive skin whenever he got rashes. For me, it’s a must-have for moms and babies to create more happy moments than rash-crying moments!
You know, aside from the diaper rash balm, Skinfix, Inc.’s gentle baby collection also has a gentle eczema balm that you can also get at Target. While they have a gentle hair & body lotion and the body wash, you can get these 2 products at CVS.
And now I’m wondering if you have tried Skinfix, Inc. products, how’s your experience using it? I’d be happy to hear your thoughts!
