New Year, new me! Well, I most likely smell to you like I’m going to ditch the old and bad habits from the past year for a healthier New Year’s resolution. For a healthier lifestyle, that’s no doubt, I tell you. The year 2016 wasn’t bad for me, there are actually so many good things that happened in my life last year that makes me happy everytime I think of it. One of those things is watching how my Baby Cody grow day by day, giving me endless reasons to believe that life is not so bad. Motherhood, that is.
I really enjoy the year 2016. Though I know I also enjoy some bad habits that I think I’ve been paying for since then. I may have gained back my pre-pregnancy body quite well, but there were those times when I look in the mirror and look closer at myself, I frown. I feel guilty thinking I spoiled myself to some unhealthy habits.
So this year 2017, I hope to do better! I’d love to change for the better and be the healthier version of myself by kick starting the New Year with a healthier lifestyle! It’s not only for me, but also for our baby on the way. Yes, I’m pregnant—again! We’re expecting Baby Number 2! I really have to keep pushing for my new year’s resolution to make sure my little tenant is healthy, too.
Let me share you some of my 2017 New Year’s resolution:
To get enough sleep regularly
I’d love to start the year by taking time to relax after setting my baby to sleep at night, but no more TV after 12 AM! I need enough sleep, well, everybody does. It’s a-must, especially now that there’s another baby growing inside me.
Eyebags, large pores, always feeling sleepy during the day, etcetera. And the culprits? Not getting enough sleep! Given that I have a one year old baby boy, you’ll probably think that he’s keeping me awake during night time. But no, my baby is a good sleeper. I just have to feed him once around 3 to 4 AM when he ask (cry) for his milk, then he will go back to sleep again. He wakes up around 9 AM, which supposed to give me more time for myself, yeah?
You know what’s really keeping me awake all night is my very unhealthy habit of watching movies, and TV show series on Netflix! I always say I’m just going to watch for an hour or two, then it’s already sunrise before I know it!
To exercise more often
I always want to exercise regularly, but I must admit that I often fail to do it on a regular basis when laziness strikes. From now on, I’m going to keep things in order this year and I won’t let procrastination ruin my fitness routine. Since now that I’m pregnant, other exercise may not be advisable for me. Even just a daily 15-30 minutes walk while pushing my Baby Cody on his stroller will do a lot of difference. I can do it!
To take my daily vitamins regularly
I usually take my daily vitamin supplements regularly then, until one day I just feel like I keep missing it more and more often. But this year, I really have to stay on track on taking my vitamins because I need it most now. The only difference is what I’m taking now is a prenatal multivitamins.
To eat healthy
I love eating vegetables, fish, and healthy foods. But I noticed that I’ve been spoiling myself with unhealthy diet these past few months, how come they are so tempting and taste so good? No more again, unhealthy foods! This year 2017, as part of my New Year’s resolution and as an expecting mom, I have to eat healthy foods daily.
To have breakfast daily
It’s true that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I need it most especially. But I told myself that I wanted to eat the healthier version of breakfast. Yes, I’d love to always have a healthy morning meal daily.
I’m trying different kinds of healthy food every morning, and I thought I need to share you my new favorite easy breakfast recipe. It’s no secret that I love cereals for breakfast since then. I also love Greek yogurt, fruits, and nuts, so I came up to the idea of combining them together for a wholesome meal. I used walnuts because it’s also good for pregnant women like me.
Speaking of cereal, Post® Shredded Wheat cereal is my new favorite. I love that it was made for the combination of taste and health, packed with whole grains and nutrients! Fibers, and nutrients… yes, please!
